Adam grew up in Lansing, Michigan where he attended Michigan State University. He obtained a degree in with a double major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Chemistry. After graduating in 2021, Adam joined the Gilad lab at MSU where he used genetic engineering to develop novel biosensors to produce contrast in CEST MRI. Looking for more translational, disease related research, Adam joined the Javid lab at UCSF studying the role of antibodies in tuberculosis infection where he built an interest in immunology and the regulation of cells and their effect on disease states. He’s now interested in taking his experience from his two jobs and using it to explore cell engineering and systems biology to help overcome the limitations of contemporary cellular therapeutics. Outside of lab Adam enjoys being outdoors, cycling or hiking, taking in his surrounds through photography, or cooking a delicious meal at home for him and his wife to enjoy!
