I grew up in the Black Forest area in Germany and studied Molecular Biology, partly in Germany and partly in Australia. Later I obtained my PhD from the German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ) in Heidelberg, where I then stayed on for a two-year Postdoc position. During that time I designed and supervised several projects, all of which made use of pooled, barcoded shRNA libraries and aimed to identify genes that play important roles in the development and treatment of cancer.
In my spare time I enjoy traveling - but also camping, fishing and drinking a bottle of red wine with good company.
