I grew up in Southern California, but attended Cornell University in Ithaca, NY as an undergraduate. I majored in chemistry, but I also had a strong interest in biomedical research, so I joined the Hanson Lab at Cornell to study the pathogenesis and treatment of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. After graduating in 2021, I spent two years working at the Harris Orthopaedics Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital. I was involved in a variety of projects aimed at developing antibiotic and analgesic-eluting polymers used to treat pain and infection after orthopaedic surgeries, but I was most interested in the host immune response to post-surgical infections. At UCSF, I hope to further my involvement in immunology research. During my rotation at the McManus lab, I will be working on engineering immune cells to be efficacious therapies. In my spare time, I love playing the piano, relaxing at home with my snake, eating Asian pastries, and walking outside.
