I graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Ph.D. degree and did my thesis work under the supervision of Professors Daniel G. Tenen and Manuel Salto-Tellez in the Cancer Science Institute of Singapore. My thesis work is related to the characterization of the roles of oncofetal protein SALL4 in hepatocellular carcinoma, the major form of liver cancers. After graduation, I continued to characterize the mechanisms of SALL4 in carcinogenesis in Tenen Lab as a research fellow. During the course of my postdoctoral work, I developed immense interest in gene regulation and RNA biology. Therefore, I am expanding my knowledge in gene regulation and RNA biology, particularly the non-coding RNAs, transcription regulation, and chromatin modifications. In my spare time, I like to read, travel, and take pictures.
