I am from a little town in the south of Spain (Seville), where I obtained my PhD degree in Molecular Biology, Biomedical Research and Clinical Investigation in Dr. Pintor-Toro’s lab. My PhD work focused on various projects related to elucidating the roles of non-coding RNAs in tumorigenesis. We identified and characterized lnc-Spry1 as an immediate-early regulator of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), in addition to developing different technologies to modulate the expression of small RNA molecules in cells. Some of my hobbies include dancing salsa and bachata and doing all kinds of sports.
