I'm a rising junior at Lowell HS and hope to go into biomedical research in the future. For the past two summers, I worked at the Nuclear Engineering Department at UC Berkeley, where I wrote peak analysis tools for radiation spectra and created a local server for live-graphing incoming data from environmental sensors. However, I developed an interest in neurobiology and decided to explore biological lab research instead of staying with engineering. I wound up sticking with biology and eventually landed here at the McManus lab, where I'm currently cloning the human genome to create a library of recombinant lentiviral plasmids as a resource for gene therapies and future experiments. Outside of the lab, I play varsity lacrosse for my high school team and enjoy skiing in my spare time.
