I received my undergraduate degree from NC State University in 2002 in Chemistry and Biochemistry. I then left the south to attend UC-San Diego for graduate school. I worked with Dr. Robert Rickert until 2009 in studying the role of the transcription factor Foxo1 in B cell development and activation. I recently joined the McManus lab to broaden my knowledge base to include non-coding RNA.
In my spare time I love to read, brew beer and be outdoors and out of the city.
