I grew up in Oregon (go ducks) where it rains a lot, and did my B.S. in biochemistry at Santa Clara University where it never rains. I received my Ph.D. in chemistry at UC Berkeley working in Ming Hammond's lab, where I investigated bacterial riboswitch RNAs and their potential for drug discovery. I am interested in all things chemical biology, biotech and infectious disease. I like running, watching sports, sunshine, dining out, a good happy hour, snowboarding, and other bro-tastic things.
