I grew up in Overland Park, Kansas before moving to Chicago to study at Northwestern University. There, I completed my B.A. in Biological Sciences (with a focus in Biochemistry) and worked under Professor Milan Mrksich to design a high throughput peptide array screening system using complex surface chemistry coupled with mass spectrometry. At UCSF, I am currently a first year Biomedical Sciences Ph.D. student with an interest in molecular biology, more specifically functional genomics. I enjoy spending my spare time outdoors, particularly traveling, hiking, skiing, and playing basketball.
