I was born and raised in New Jersey before heading to Johns Hopkins for college. At Hopkins I developed an interest in noncoding RNAs along with bacterial ribozymes. After college, I spent a year at the NIH as a post-bac fellow before coming to UCSF for the combined MD/PhD program. Outside of the lab, I enjoy cycling, hiking and lifting.
