I grew up in Santiago, Chile, where I have performed my undergraduate studies in Biology at the University of Concepcion (Chile) working on glial glucosensing. I then moved to Belgium to perform my PhD studies at the University of Liege, where I developed my research interest in comparative transcriptomics of several pancreatic cell types in zebrafish. In my spare time, I enjoy playing the saxophone and listening to the greatest jazz artists from the 70s. My home country has >4,000 km of beach front, so of course I love to spend long days in the "beach and sun"!
