I was born and raised in Manhattan, NYC before moving to the Washington D.C. area at the age of 12. For college, I attended the University of Virginia where I worked under Anindya Dutta on the molecular biology of cancer. I then spent a year at the NIH studying novel therapies for hepatitis C before coming to UCSF. My research interests range from genomics and synthetic biology to neuroscience and stem cells. In my spare time, I love to compose and play piano music, train in martial arts, as well as read voraciously.
